Forest Preserve Clean-Up

Come and help spruce up the Greenbelt Forest Preserve trail and remove trash and debris in preparation for the 27th Annual Greenbelt Pumpkin Walk. Gather at Northway fields before entering the forest. Please dress to get dirty and wear sturdy, closed-toe workshoes. Open to all ages.
Co-hosted by the City's Forest Preserve Advisory Board and Greenbelt Pumpkin Walk Festival.
Community Carve Off
Roosevelt Center, Free

Carve a pumpkin that will be placed on the Pumpkin Walk the following evening! If you are part of a community group, we encourage your group to carve a pumpkin too! We'll have music, merriment, and pumpkins at the ready, waiting for your creativity and community spirit! Greenbelt favorites Cold Hard Cash and Bachelor and the Bad Actress along with the North American Martyrs (country with a Latin flavor!) will provide great music. All are welcome; BYOCU (bring your own carving utensils). Donations appreciated.
Can't make it to the carving? Help ensure we can continue to keep the Pumpkin Festival fun and free for all by making a donation. Make your check payable to the Greenbelt Community Development Corporation and put Greenbelt Pumpkin Festival in the memo line. You can mail your donation to 23D Ridge Road, Greenbelt, MD 20770.

Be part of an annual tradition in Greenbelt-- now in its 27th year! Come see the Greenbelt Forest Preserve as you never have before in this family-friendly walk through the woods. See 200 jack o' lanterns carved by community members at the Community Carve-Off are lit and placed in the woodland trail. Legend has it that once darkness falls, Woodland Fairy will make an appearance, and you might even get a glimpse of the legendary Goatman. Fun for the entire family. A delightful 1/2 mile trek awaits you in the forest!
Pumpkin Olympics
Greenbelt Aquatic and Fitness Center

In partnership with the City of Greenbelt Aquatic and Fitness Center, we are thrilled to bring back last year's Pumpkin Water Olympics. Fun for adults and kids, we provide opportunities for everyone to be an Olympic Athlete by connecting with their inner squash. Young children can compete in relay races and other fun events, while adults and older teens will battle it out to wrest the mighty pumpkin from one end of the pool to the other in this Halloween morning activity.

The Greenbelt Forest Preserve supports the Greenbelt Greenman Festival, two days of music, vendors, crafts, environmental awareness, food, and fun in historic Greenbelt. This year the festival celebrates our local streams and waterways, which are intimately connected to the Greenbelt Forest Preserve.The festival will bring to light some of our best kept secrets about sustainable living downstream: those places we all share. Art submissions are also welcomed for Visions of the Waters, the festival art show, on Monday, May 4, between 6 and 8 pm.
