Join the Pollinator Platoon in the Greenbelt Labor Day Parade!
The Butterfly Brigade and the Bee Batallion are looking to boost our ranks for our parade marching unit. Get your wings on on join us! We'll be promoting the imporance of pollinators and protecting their habitat. The parade takes place on Monday, September 1 from 10 am to noon and all participants must be in position by 9:45 am.
We will also be hosting a parade sign and wing making gathering on Sunday, August 31 at 5:30 pm at 12 H Plateau Place.

Build a Native Bee Home Workshop

In this fun workshop, participants learned how to build a simple native bee home using natural wood and bamboo materials, which they decorated. Materials and tools were provided.

The Butterfly Brigade was on hand to share information about pollinator friendly gardens at the Three Sisters Greenbelt Garden Demonstration featuring free dance performances by Alight Dance Theater and a sustainable gardening demonstration by CHEARS (Chespeake Education and Arts Reseach Sociey).
