Forest Ecology Walk with the Anacostia Watershed Society

North Tract Entrance at Northway Fields



Hikers enjoyed a moderately strenuous walk led by Jorge Bogantes Montero, Natural Resources Specialist at the Anacostia Watershed Society, and Jim Soulé, a tree expert who grew up in the Greenbelt area near the preserve. Jorge and Jimmy interpreted the ecology and biodiversity of these amazing woods and also identified the preserve's wonderful flora including the seasonal spring ephemeral plants for about 30 woods enthusiasts.
